Hi All,

Is it appropriate to use V58.11 for treatment with Idarubacin? According to medlineplus.gov Idarubacin is classed as an antibiotic used to treat acute myeloid leukemia. My patient has Acut promyelocytic leukemia, which is under the acute myeloid leukemia codes.

Thanks in Advance,

Amy

My understanding is that since Idarubicin is technically classified as a chemotherapeutic agent
(all J9 codes fall under chemotherapy per CPT guidelines), the use of the V58.11 would be appropriate.
