Patient fell a few weeks ago and looks like there is gravel imbedded in her arm. How would I code this, I&D?
 
In ICD-10, you need to know which arm and what part of the arm. Once you know that, look in the S40 series for "superficial foreign body."

Since the provider is still actively treating her (ie: it is not in the healing, follow-up phase), use letter A as the 7th character.
