Does anyone know if there is a ICD-9 code for Impaired Decision Making? Thanks
 
What about 294.9? - Unspecified persistent mental disorders due to conditions classified elsewhere - it includes Cognitive Disorder NOS. It's kind of hard to get specific without knowing all of the details of the note. Any way that you could post a scrubbed version?
 
I saw that - I wasn't too sure about the "due to conditions classified elsewhere" part in the first place, but it was the closest code that I could find. It might be worth mentioning that the diagnosis isn't always limited to the wording provided in the "Impressions" or "Assessment" portions of the note. Clues that lead to more specific assignments can be anywhere in the physician's notes, so it's important to have the whole thing available, if you're seeking accurate advice. ;)
