Help with code please! My doctor did a Impella using right femoral arterial access. I used code 33990 or should it be the unlisted code of 33999?
33990 (Insertion of ventricular assist device, percutaneous including R&I and interp; arterial access only)

You were correct the first time. Impella code for insertion is 33990. If removal was performed after the case, you cannot code. But if it was removed the next day, code 33992 for Impella removal.
