Hello all,

The question is can an ASC bill “in and out” implants? (screw placed,taken out due to wrong size and replaced with another). My understanding if screws, anchors, etc that did not leave in the patient were not to be billed.

From time to time we are asked why “ins and outs” aren't billed since they can't be reused.

Just wanted feedback and does it boil down to how it is addressed in carrier contracts?

I would appreciate your insight on this matter.
