Im not sure if this is a telemed visit or not. We had a patient come in for covid testing for travel. She physically came in the office, had vitals done, had her covid test done but had to leave due to a family emergency. She finished the appt with the provider on telemed. Since the provider only saw her on telemed would it be that? Or since she came in and physically had vitals and testing done would it be a normal e/m office visit?

Hi there. I would say you could go either way with this one, especially because the pay will be the same. But the provider should document what happened in case there are ever any questions.

I personally would lean toward telehealth since that is the key portion that the physician performed.
It's the reverse order of telehealth visit that resulted in the patient needing to come in for covid swab. For those, the visit is billed telehealth, even though the patient comes onsite and sees staff.
