Inability to swallow capsule

Hi everyone

does anyone know if you bill anything if a patient is unable to swallow the capsule? Capsule is wasted and expensive and we've never had this problem before.

I think you can bill the capsule CPT with a copy of your invoice attached to at lease cover your cost. In box 19, state that the pill was unable to be swallowed and had to be discarded. I've had success with this when the capsule wouldn't pass through the stomach and had to eventually be removed with endoscopy.
