Incident to Billing with Hospitalist

I’m having trouble explaining a situation that I feel is wrong in billing. Can someone help me with describing why this is wrong to a hospitalist group? We do incident to billing and the hospitalist group does not know why the NP can’t do an H&P on one day or service and then the hospitalist see the patient next day but bill for the day the NP saw the patient. I have presented that this would have to be a face to face encounter with the patient the day of the bill. Looking for guidance on this situation and scenario of what could happen.
