Can someone give me an example of when it would be acceptable to unbundle incisional hernia repair from a smal bowel resection?
I have a Lap converted to open small bowel resection with an incisional hernia repair. Edits indicate they can be unbundled, but some resources indicate it would be included.

If the incision(s) used to gain access to the small bowel also incorporates the incisional hernia, then it is considered bundled. In order for the incisional hernia repair to be considered "seperate", then it would truly have to be a seperate incision used to open up the hernia sac, repair, and then close that is NOT part of the incision that was used for the small bowel resection. Does that make sense?
