If a patient with Medicare has an incomplete colonoscopy, will Medicare pay for a repeat colonoscopy?

Modifier

Yes, with Medicare you'll need to use modifier 53 on the incomplete colonoscopy, they then will allow a repeated procedure. With all other plans use modifier 52

yes.. add 53 modifier to the CPT for physician coding and 74 for facility(hospital) coding.
