Physician goes into to OR to remove a FB from the patients esophagus, inserts scope and sees FB way before the esophagus but decided not to remove it and refer to ENT for one reason or another (he is the physician and I would trust his decision) can the physician bill coded 43200-53, he did do the preoperative eval of patient, as well as intended to do the procedure, he inserted the scope, he just didn’t end up doing it?
