Hello everyone,

The company I currently work for is creating equations for the 22 modifier to be added to CPT codes for the increased procedural services. For vaginal deliveries, how are companies doing the equation for the 22 modifier on the deliveries? Does a second and third degree vaginal laceration really justify for 150% payment?

Per the ACOG guidelines, 1st and 2nd degree lacerations are included in the global payment. Third and fourth degree get modifier 22.
