Need your input please. What code(s) would you choose for this? Only a portion of the infected PD cath removed, a new connector attached and also sternal incision opened.
( Considering 49421,49422, 10180??)

Procedure Performed: Incision and drainage and removal of a portion of peritoneal dialysis catheter for infection.

A transverse incision over the inflammatory mass in the left upper quadrant was made. It was deepened through the subcutaneous tissue and bleeding was controlled with electrocautery. Immediately after making the incision we encountered a granulomatous-like mass and some purulence. We encountered the peritoneal dialysis catheter and immediately it was obvious that the sutures holding the titanium connector and placed were grossly infected. The catheter was pulled down from superior into the wound and a vascular clamp was placed across the tubing. A 2-0 Ethibond suturewas used to tie off the tubing and the tubing was transected between the vascular clamp and the and the suture. A new titanium connector was attached at the superior end of the now exteriorized PE tube in after carefully we'll rinsing it and watching it with Betadine. A transfer tubing was connected. This wound was then packed with Betadine soaked Nu Gauze

Tension was then turned superiorly and the ovary sternal incision was opened. Immediately there was pus noted in the depths of the wound. Both cuffs were freed up using sharp dissection and electrocautery and the tubing at the exit site was divided. Both cuffs were submitted for culture. The superior wound was then packed with Betadine gauze and 4 x 4's and Tegaderms were placed.

Thank you!
Tammy
