hi
if patient returns 23 days post c-section for oozing at incision site.
minor infection noted, 3mm area opened superfically. Skin around the area erythematous.
Area cleaned with hydrogen peroxide. Rx sent for Keflex 500mg TIDx3 days.
Instructed pt to monitor for any increase in discomfort, fever, redness. Pt expressed understanding.
Pt will return to office if symptoms worsen.
is this still included in global delivery care? or can add 99213-24?

IMHO I would say this is included in global care, under "local incisional care". The modifier 24 is saying it's unrelated to the procedure and that is not the case.

Wound infection is part of global per CMS guidelines.
The AMA guidelines are different, but most carriers follow the CMS guidelines for global. You may need to check with the carrier.
Here's a good CPC article about the differences between AMA global surgical package and CMS global surgical package. https://www.aapc.com/blog/41165-post-operative-complications-global-period/
My employer uses the CMS guidelines for all carriers, so this would be part of global.
