I am trying to find the correct ICD-10 code for Inflammatory Arthritis. In ICD-9 the alphabetic index sent you to 714.9 Inflammatory Polyarthropathy or Polyarthritis. In ICD-10 there is no guidance like that. Code M06.4 is for Inflammatory Polyarthropathy. polyarthritis NOS sends you to M13.0 But the arthritis is specified as Inflammatory. Would code M06.4 be appropriate coding for Inflammatory Arthritis or are we forced to use M13.80 Other specified arthritis, unspecified site.

Inflammatory arthritis coding

Does the suffix -it is not mean inflammatory so if it is inflammatory arthritis then I would think Polyarthritis would be correct since arthritis is the inflammation of the joint.
