I am new to billing and coding and in a group physician office. We do primarily wound care. When we bill a debridement (11042) it is my understanding that the dressings will not be covered as they are considered part of the 11042 payment. Do I still put the dressings used on the claim? I know I won't be paid for them but I didn't know if I should put them on the claim anyway.

Thanks!

This is a great question for a manager. Some practices bill them for usage or other tracking and some don't want them billed b/c too many denials for bundling can open the practice up for audits.
