I really need some input on two questions regarding our infusion billing. I work for a multi-specialty group practice with multiple locations. However, we centralize infusions to one location. First question: If Dr. Jones at location A puts in an order for his patient to have an infusion at location B, does that claim go out with Dr. Jones as the billing provider - or does the billing provider have to be a physician who is physically on site at location B when the infusion actually takes place. Second question: if a patient has an office visit on the same day that they come into the office for their infusion, can you bill the E&M with a 25 modifier? Thank you so much for any and all input.
