In the recent Coding Edge Jan issue it shows the hierarchy for chemo infusions. I was curious as if anyone knew why the pump code 96416 was listed before any of the inital codes for chemo?

I can't speak to that but I have a related question. Recently Shasta denied the pump hook up code same day as an IVP of 5FU saying only one admin of this drug per day. I have never had any problems with this. I have a .59 on the pump hook up.How do they know what drug is going in the pump?
