I am going over coding scenarios for ED infusion and injections.

Documentation from the ED Physician Notes:

Administered Medications:
•19:21 Drug: Zofran 4 mg Route: IVP; Site: left antecubital
•20:54 Follow up: IV status: Completed infusion Response: No adverse reaction; Nausea is decreased
•19:21 Drug: morphine 4 mg Route: IVP; Site: left antecubital
•20:20 Follow up: Response: No adverse reaction; Pain is decreased
•19:21 Drug: NS 0.9 percent 1,000 ml Route: IV; Rate: bolus; Site: left antecubital
•20:54 Follow up: IV status: Completed infusion


I would code 96365 96366( I use this 96366 because the Zofran infused for 93min so that would be greater than 30 minutes beyond 1hr increment) 96375

but the answer key just has 96365 and 96375

?
 
Hi,

The answer is 96365 and 96375 because morphine does not have the complete infusion time it just said it was a follow up. and 96361 for the NS
