Wiki infusions/IVPB running more than one day/date

Hello,

When coding an ER visit that changes to observation, if you have an infusion or hydration that exceeds more than one day/date, do you use quantity per the date started or do you break it down per day/date.

ex.
NS 11/4/17 started 9:00pm - ended 11/5/17 at 3:00pm

Would this be 11/4/17 96360 X 1 11/4 96361 x 17
or
11/4/17 96360x1 96361 x2 11/5/17 96361x15??

Also can you provide where I can find the documentation to back this up? I have read different things per CMS, CPT assist and coding clinics?
