I need help with coding for inguinal hernia repair with mesh. According to the CPT book, the mesh code (49568) is only use with 49560 - 49566. I was wondering is there another code for inguinal hernia repair that will include mesh? Or does the physician will lose monies on mesh item?
 
The mesh implant or prosthetic patch is included in all the hernia repair codes except the incisional/ventral hernia repairs. There is not separate code, as it is included. :0)
