Pt was seen by physician in ED on the 21st. Physician admits pt. Pt was moved from bed to bed in ED due to lack of beds in the hospital. Pt discharged on the 24th. How would you code this and what POS would apply? Physician dictates admit H&P and D/C note.
 
If patient was admitted as an Inpatient, code this to POS 21. What matters is the status of the patient assigned by the hospital, not the exact area of the hospital that the patient is in.
