Hey All-

Does anyone have any advice for billing hyaluronic acid filler (Juvederm/Voluma/Restylane, etc) for therapeutic purposes? We have been using these fillers to help with enophthalmos and after orbitotomy surgery (where an orbital mass was removed) due to volume loss in the cheek.

The fillers cannot be billed with a J-code, unfortunately, because they do not have NDC #'s because they are considered "implantable medical devices". We have tried billing 11950, but we only get paid about $24-$80 (depending on the insurance), and our overhead is approximately $355 per syringe of the filler.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!!!
