What would you code for administration of a medicine when the patient brought his own medicine in? The doc only administered.
 
You bill the injection, because the doctor still has to administer it. You do not bill the medication, because that is what the patient brought in. For example, if the a patient is getting orthovisc injections, and they are being supplied by the insurance carrier. The patient hand delivers them to the doctors office. The doctor will inject the patient, so you will be billing the procedure.
