i need some help with this ...

our provider is the PCP. a pt had an office visit. and Pt brought in the Hep B vaccine and the doctor just admin the injection. can we only just bill for the admin with the code 90471 to ins. along with the office visit.

could anybody please share their knowledge.. i need to know how to do this.

thanks for the help

I believe if the patient brought the hep b vaccine you can not bill for the vaccine just the administration of the vaccine...

and i am assuming the office visit you want to bill for was for a seperate issue in which case you could bill for also..

A 90471 can be bill and include the CPT code for the Hep B vaccine but at a cost of $0.00 or $0.01 depending on the billing software. Some software needs a price to recognize it to send the claim electronically. The 90471 can be whatever your practice charges rather then the Federally Mandated vaccine administrative price that is regulated for state vaccine adminstration. Any other thoughts out there?
