if two separate injections of 30 mg and the other of 20 mg was given in the same visit. would you code these separate to J1020 & J 1030 or would you just code J1040? Any help would be great.
Thanks
I have a similar situation, did that coding work for you? My doc gave 100 mg so I wanted to use J1040 1 unit and J1020 1unit. I just wasn't sure if it's appropriate.
Thanks
Laura
Personally I would add them together as long as the documentation supported. Were they in the same location? For example, my physician likes to use 40mg in the hip and 30 in the knee (different medication same concept). Make sure the NDC number cooresponds.
