Hi there,

We have a patient who is getting a splenectomy, and her surgeon is requiring her to get the Menactra and HIB injections. These are childhood vaccines which would not be covered normally, but since this is a special circumstance, do you have advice on how we can convey through billing/coding that this is medically necessary and recommended by the surgeon.

Thanks in advance!
