I'm not sure where to put this question, but which of AAPC's certifications is equal to the CCS certification.thanks

The CIC certification is closest to the CCS credential.

That's what I thought. So why don't more hospitals require CIC as a requirement? What I'm seeing so far are RHIT or CCS required for inpatient coding. thank you for the response.

CIC is an new credential. AAPC has more been focused on physician coding and hospitals are aligned more with AHIMA. CCS is also way more than just inpatient. Its more of a combo of CPC, COC (formerly known as CPC-H) & CIC.
