The patient was admitted on 09/27/2019 for pneumonia. The patient was discharged on 09/30/2019. The patient was admitted to the hospital again for shortness of breath less than 24 hours later on 10/01/2019, then discharged on 10/05/2019. The DRG for both stays is the same. Should this have been submitted to Medicare as one claim or can it be two claims? Please advise.
