If a patient is admitted to the hosptial at 8 am to the icu then moved to a floor unit at 4 pm. How do you bill for that day? Is it based on how long the patient was in the icu bed?

I think it would be one day. It doesn't matter what floor this patient was in.

Yes but do I bill for the ICU code or Floor code?

just because a patient was in an ICU bed doesn't mean you should bill critical care codes 99291 and 99292. it is the work that that provider did.
