This is my first time reaching out as a new coder, and I was hoping someone could help me with a coding conundrum I'm facing in the clinic. We are a clinic attached an inpatient hospital. For that reason, we send RN's on the floor to provide inpatient wound care in addition to our outpatient clinic visits. We are losing a ton of revenue on the inpatient front, because we can't quite figure out how to code for when an RN provides wound assessment and instructions for ongoing care, but does not perform a debridement. I have a feeling the answer is coded similarly to therapy and rehabilitation in the medicine section. So my question to you all is: is there a CPT code I can assign to be reimbursed for the resources our clinic contributes to patient wound care education in the inpatient setting?

Thinking out loud here... RN services are included in what the facility is required to provide. Why isn't the facility paying a monthly stipend for having the RNs available as needed?
