I am coding Endocrinology. The physician mentioned a charge for downloading information from an insulin pump. I know about 95251, but she mentioned a different code. I cannot find that code (it had to many numbers). I have asked her about it since and she doesn't mention it. I cannot find any other info on this either. Is there a charge for downloading and adjusting an insulin pump?

Thank you!

I'm in Oncology so my experience is a bit different but we do use infusion pumps. For both the pumps and the drugs, the manufacturers usually have a billing guide of some kind available on their provider website's that can steer you in the right direction. I never take their word for it :) and do my own research before using a code they recommend but if there's a code to capture downloading data from their device, they're likely going to be in the know.

I do see S1031 and 95249. Have you looked at those?
