The new guidelines for Intermediate Repair- Is limited Undermining a requirement? I cannot seem to get a consistent answer.
 
As I understand it, undermining is not a requirement, but is included when performed. The revised guidelines now distinguish more clearly between limited and extensive undermining and specify that limited undermining is included in the intermediate codes, which means that when performed, it does not warrant reporting as a complex repair unless it meets the new definition of extensive.
