Has anyone determined a specific code other than 21499, unlisted procedure for excision of styloid process for Eagle Syndrome. Medicare will not reimburse for 21499, and we are trying to determine how we can get reimbursed prior to completing the procedure. Thank you.

No such luck at this point. Have you tried to do an appeal to Medicare? Did your surgeon do an osteotomy through the mandible? We have thought about trying 21198 Osteotomy, mandible, segmental; to retrieve some of the approach charges. I would be curious if anyone else has any ideas???
