One of my physicians infused MTX via an intraventricular reservoir. Is this coded as an infusion or as a procedure since the physician is performing it? ALso, she had one of our other physicians assist her during the procedure. How do I code his time, or do I? Is this just a high level E/M? Please help. Thanks
 
96542 would cover "Chemotherapy injection, subarachnoid or intraventricular via subcutaneous reservoir, single or multiple agents." If there was an E/M done same day, the E/M code needs a 25 modifier on it. Hope this helps. Good luck!
