I really need help. I code for a general surgeon. The procedure was an "excisional biopsy of right subareolar mass". The pathologist report states:
Invasive ductal carcinoma, .grade 2
Ductal carcinoma in situ, intermidiate grade.
I am lost on diagnosis code for this. It is also a male patient.

when you have breast cancer and breast cancer insitu in the same breast, you code only the invasive neoplasm. So just look up neoplasm then breast then each specific location has a separate code for male or female.
 
Thanks for responding. We came to the conclusion that it is C50.121. I was not going to put just any answer. Kolecrzy had the answer. :o
