I need help deciding between 27603 and 11042. Dx. of Abscess of tibia (682.6). Here's OP note:

Patient brought to the operating theater and placed in supine position.
After general anesthesia, patient prepped and draped in the usual sterile
fashion. A longitudinal incision was made over the bullous area of the
abscess. Obvious pus came out. The cultures were obtained. We then
aggressively debrided the wound and irrigated it with 9 L of saline. We used
curettes and rongeurs. We carefully palpated and did not feel that it
communicated with the knee joint in any place. Wounds were copiously
irrigated and closed with a 3-0 nylon. A medium Hemovac was placed. The
patient was allowed to wake up and was taken to the recovery room in a stable
condition.

Any thoughts on the choice of 27603 vs. 11042?

I would code 27603
