Is it appropriate to provide IV sedation for 36471, 36475, 36478, 37765? Or does it depend on the anesthetic?
 
There could be a number of factors that could prompt an order for IV sedation for the procedures describe in your post. If you are receiving denial, you could request the attending physician to state the reason there is order for the IV sedation for the proposed procedures.
 
Well, it looks like we've found the problem. The coder wasn't looking at the anesthesia work sheet when coding the claims. (gulp!) Sometimes you need to ask the most basic questions to understand a problem.
