The dr ordered a CXR with the dx of "past positive PPD". Is there a way to code this?
 
I have come across a code for a current positive reaction to the test but I have never heard of a code for the history for that.

Anyone else?

I have been instructed to use 795.5 with the rationale that the code description does not specifically indicate when the ppd test was reactive--currently or in the past.
 
I have thought about using 795.5, but I just was hoping there was a more specific code. I guess I don't have a choice but to use it. Thanks for your input!
