Hi, we had an iv bag malfunction during an Inflectra infusion. So the medication was in the bag and 30 minutes into the infusion it was noted that the "IV bag found to be defective and leaking a significant amount of Inflectra onto the floor. "
A new bag was then started. Documentation shows 12 vials used, 54 units given to the patient and 66 units wasted.
Do we get to bill for the malfunctioning bag and medication? I couldn't find anything addressing this during my research.
