Good afternoon,

I have had a first today. One of my physicians performed an IVUS of three veins using an access on the right side, then performed three additional ultrasounds from an access on the left side. Since these are two separate access sites, would billing of CPT 37252 with a 59 be appropriate?

I understand that the add on code of 37252 Is for each additional vessel; however, I was not sure if the new access would factor into anything.

Thank you!

HI, as per the CPT language the code is for vessel each as 3 vessels were seen on both side then we will code it as 37252, 37252-59,37252-59,37252-59,37252-59,37252-59.
