I know J1010 is the replacement J code for Methylprednisolone acetate injections J1020-J1040) for April 2024. Would the correct way to bill this be with 80 units for an 80mg injection?

J2930 & J2930 were also deleted. Is the correct replacement J2919? The Medicare fee schedule also shows $0 for these codes. Anyone having issues with this??

I am having issues with this as well. We give 125mg and the only way to bill it that I see is J2919 with 25 units, but like you said, there is no reimbursement listed.

Check you MAC - Florida, First Coast Service Options - fee schedule look up - ASP drugs - enter code- dos and your locality - J2919 is showing

With the new code for Solumedrol J2919 it is billed per 5 mg. If we give a patient 100 mg nd the vial is up to 125mg how many units are billed? I think it is billed with 20 units and a JZ modifier. Is this correct?

How do I bill for a 20, 60, AND 80mg injection using J1010? We are using MethylPREDNISolone Acetate Injectable Suspension 400 mg per 5 mL vial. 80 mg per mL. Thanks for any help.

20units and then 5units/JW, since there would be waste of 25mg.

I’m not familiar with this drug but if you go to the cms website and search ndc crosswalk they have a spreadsheet that will tell you how many billable units per vial size/ndc number.
