My question is the number of units should be used and can we code J3301 more than once with 20610. How would this be coded including units
  • Triamcinolone-40, 40mg/1mL : 60 mg (Dose No:1) (Route: Intraarticular) on Knee, Left (Pain in left knee)
  • Triamcinolone-40, 40mg/1mL : 60 mg (Dose No:2) (Route: Intraarticular) on Knee, Right (Pain in right knee)
I was told to code J3301 x 3 on separate lines with 4 units each.

J3301 is billed based on 10 mg units. You have billed 120 mg. altogether, and 60 mg for each knee. You can bill one line with 12 units, or J3301-LT with 6 units and J3301-RT with 6 units.
