When performing a joint injection at multiple sites under fluroscopy...can you bill 77002 mutliple times? Depending on how many different sites were injected?

Thanks:)

yes if they are separate anatomical locations. If the doc is injection the right knee on both the medial and lateral side, this would only count as one anatomic location.

make sense?

It pt had an injection of the following under fluoroscopic guidance:

RIGHT SECOND TARSOMETATARSAL JOINT
RIGHT THIRD TARSOMETATARSAL JOINT
RIGHT THIRD METATARSAL-PHALANGEAL

Would I bill out 77002 x 3 or just 77002 one time.

When billing for fluoroscopy 73222 would you put a 59 on the 2nd one if they did an injection in the right foot and left foot and used fluoro for both?

Thanks.

73222 is an MRI of the upper extremity I think that may have been a typo. Yes if you are doing fluoro (77002) of two different feet, then I would append it with a 59 modifier.
