We use those patient sign-in sheets on which the patient signs a sticker that gets put on the encounter form, while a copy of all the patients' sign-ins remains on the sheet. It has been suggested that we don't have to keep the copy sheet, because we keep the encounter forms.

Is there any reason that we should keep the copy sheets with all the names onthem?

Unless you have a written policy that states otherwise, I see no reason why you have to keep the sign-in sheet when that information is already retained in each patient's charge via the encounter form. Just make sure you destroy them properly. Alternatively, if in doubt, you can always scan them as PDFs and save them to a computer, then destroy them.

Hope that helps.
