our doctor did a 66840, materials removal, and kenalog injection, the J3301 code was denied as part of the procedure. Are they now including this in the supplies, or should I have coded something else, any assistance friends?
If the Kenalog was used as part of the cataract procedure (like to reduce swelling), then it would be considered a surgical supply and included in the procedure.
If it was used for an unrelated condition (like macular edema), I would appeal with the medical records showing it was unrelated to the cataract surgery.
