Is this enough info to determine units of J3301 to bill? I get so confused!!! My docs always document in cc's

"injected steroid / local to each site, both arms (bilateral pronator, bilateral radial tunnel). 1.5 cc of 1:1 mix of Kenalog 40 & Lidocaine, Injected to each of 4 sites"
Thanks

How to bill J3301 with correct units

J3301 triamcinolone acetonide, (Kenalog-10, Kenalog-40) per 10 mg
Your bottle says Kenalog 40 =40 mg/ml
If you use 0.25 cc 10 mg/40 mg = 1 Unit
If you use 0.5 cc 20 mg/40 mg = 2 Units
If you use 0.75 cc 30 mg/40 mg = 3 Units
If you use 1.0 cc 40 mg/40 mg = 4 Units

WHAT IF THE KENALOG IS 50MG/5ML AND THE PROVIDER DOCUMENTS 10 MG INJECTION?

After attempted aspiration, 11 ml was slowly injected to fill the fascial contents of the suprascapular fossa to produce an indirect suprascapular nerve block with 10 mg of 0.5% bupivacaine and triamcinolone 10 mg after a subcutaneous injection of 1% lidocaine for local analgesia

The descriptor of J3301 is per 10 mg, so that would be 1 unit of J3301.

1cc = 1ml. as per J3301 description stated 10mg. Then 50mg/5ml =10mg/ml =1 unit of J3301
