In ICD-10 Kidney stones and ureteral stones has a combination code of N20.2. One of my docs is stating if the kidney stone and ureteral stone are NOT on the SAME side you would code them separately with N20.0 and N20.1. My question is since laterality is not specified in the codes would it be correct to code them separately? Any help would be great!
