Pt is status post a TKR. How would you code for subsequent visits in reference to the TKR? I know we use V43.65, but this can only be used as a secondary dx. If the pt's original dx for the TKR was osteoarthritis (715.16), would you use a history of arthritis for the primary code (V13.4) for the f/u visits?

I usually use v6709 if they are out of the global period and then V436_ as my secondary code. I never thought of using v13.4, but since it's listed as a Non-Specified code I would not use this as a primary code. I hope this helps

I just wanted to add that if the patient is still in the global period I use V54.81 and then V436_ as my 2nd code.
