My doctor did surgery on a patients knee. He coded 29881, 29873, 29874 the 29874 was coded with loose body dx. But Blue Cross bundled the 29874 with the 29873. Is this correct even if it is in a different compartment and I use a 59 modifier.
 
CMS will not allow the reporting of CPT codes 29874, Arthroscopy, knee, surgical for removal of loose body or foreign body (eg, osteochondritis dissecans fragmentation, chondral fragmentation) and 29877, Arthroscopy, knee, surgical; debridement/shaving of articular cartilage (chrondroplasty) with other arthroscopic procedures on the same knee.
